I took the plunge and decided to start a photography blog.
If you are reading this then you were probably referred to me and know a little bit about who I am and what I do, and if you don't know me then this is your lucky day, because you are about to!
My name is Shannon. I am the owner and operator of Shannon Rohland Photography.
I am a mom of two amazing kids and a wife to the most amazing man.
I am an artist I always have been and always will be. Before I ever picked up a camera I was an artist. Every day I wake up and look at the world around me and wonder what I can create, and now, what I can capture through my lens.
I never "planned" on becoming a photographer. I had always loved to take photos though and never went anywhere without a camera. What if there was an amazing sunset or I wanted to capture a moment forever in time, to look back in 20 years from now and laugh and reminisce about that one time. But even though I always had that camera with me wherever I went I always knew that my photos could be better. I had grainy poor quality pictures and wanted the best I could get. But not only did I feel I needed better equipment but that I needed to understand what taking a quality photo means. So my lovely husband decided lets get a DSLR and that way it will last us a long time and we can take great photos. Well little did he know (or I know at the time) that I would fall in love with the possibilities that this new equipment created for me. I immersed myself in books, and online groups, and YouTube tutorials. I immediately put my camera on M-manual, and never looked back. I have not learned all there is to learn...will I ever? And I am no where near as good as I can be, but I'm working hard to get there.
I never realized photography was my passion...even though I had been annoying people my entire life to let me take their photos...or the fact that no matter where I went I had a camera in my bag.
I do believe though that everything comes to you when its meant to.
So here is my journey through my lens...you get to see what I see.
